Our Doppler Currentmeter Sonar is a vessel mounted system consisting of a single 52-element emission/reception transducer with electronic beam steering to allow for measurement along 5 axes, and a cable to the signal-processing electronics.
Technical Specifications:
| Operating Frequency | 40 kHz |
| Maximum Acoustic Power | 180 W |
| Antenna Pattern secondary lobe level | better than -40 dB (we use a cross Chebychev polynomials taper) |
| Transducer surface | 180 cm2 |
The SONAR antenna is linked through a connecting cable (standard length : 50 meters)
to a vessel mounted electronic cabinet consisting of:
- One Power Ampflier
- One Transceiver (emission/reception board)
The computer performs calculations similar to those performed by our SODAR stations.
A 2 axis tily sensor and a heading sensor can be connected to the basic system.
Performance Specifications:
| Range | down to 1000 meters |
| Precision | about 1 cm/s for average values |
| Vertical Resolution | better than 20 meters (5 meters on first gates) |
| Minimum integration period | five minutes for 1000 meters range |
